The winning teams of the MetropolisFPLab5 are currently staying in the chosen company to respond to their posed challenge.
A total of 44 students from 12 different teams were the winners of the fifth edition of the program. The prize consists on the development of their idea in a company through a paid scholarship that allows them to carry out their proposal, and to learn and know more about the company.
From September 11-15 , a delegation of professors from Skellefteå had the opportunity to participate in various activities thanks to the collaboration with different Barcelona centers and entities. They were able to enjoy visits to different schools such as INS Salvador Seguí and INS Ferran Tallada.
Furthermore, during this last week, it has been carried out within the Logistics VET Hub project, a study visit organised jointly by the VOCO Tartu Professional School with participants from different countries.
This July, the call for proposals from the Simulated Company project for the application of the SEFED methodology (Business Simulation for Educational Purposes) has been decided in the Barcelona and their metropolitan areaVET centers. A total of 25 VET centers will participate in the project for the next 2023-2024 course. Welcome to the network of simulated companies!
SIGMA renews its collaboration with the BCN VET Foundation, whose mission is to foster the relationship between vocational training and the economic and social environment, promoting an integrated and lifelong training, as well as promoting its internationalisation through international mobility and knowledge transfer.
As a collaborating company, SIGMA and the BCN VET Foundation will continue to work together to enhance vocational training and its connection to the working environment, promoting opportunities for growth and development for students and professionals in Barcelona and its metropolitan area, as well as contributing to fostering the culture of work and entrepreneurship, in line with the economic and social development of the region.
On July 13, the Catalan Coordinator of Foundations organized an Intercommittees meeting at the Pasqual Maragall Foundation. We had the opportunity to learn more about the foundation hard work in the research on alzheimer. We also had the opportunity to work in the different committees to be able to know what do we do and to establish more synergies. The coordinator’s management team will collect all the information, that will be useful to promote its strategic lines.
The restaurant of La Pau, of the el Llindar Foundation, served a catering to close the meeting and wish us a good summer.
The Foundation, as partners of the Professional Life Project (Projecte de Vida Professional) we have collaborated in the second edition of the Summer School, aimed at guidance professionals (Formation and Labour Orientation, Upper Secondary School and Compulsory Secondary Education orientators), with the aim of updating knowledge and acquiring new resources for classroom orientation.
The Foundation gave an online session about: What do professionals in the VET orientation need?, on the 12 of July from 11.30 a.m. to 12.45 a.m.
Activities such as these allow the sharing of knowledge, experiences and resources among professionals. Professional guidance is crucial to be able to take the right choices, while facilitating the connection between the needs of the labour market and the aspirations of the students.
The Foundation, and within the framework of the VET and Industrial construction Table 4.0, we have organised a conference with the Industrialized Construction Cluster of Catalonia (CCiC) and the “Escola del Treball”, aimed at the teachers of centers and entities that provide VET of Construction and Civil Works, Wood, Installations, Electricity, Mechanics and Design.
The conference took place on Thursday 29 from 10 to 12 in the Carmelo Gómez conference hall of “L’Institut Escola del Treball” of Barcelona.
The BCN Vocational and Education Training Foundation has proposed the basics of the new Sectoral Study of Sustainable Construction in the AMB VET sector that we are working on from the Observatory. We have also presented the Industrialized Construction Cluster of Catalonia, in charge of Pere Armora, President of CCiC, and Ignasi Pérez Arnal, Vice-President and CEO BIM Academy.
We have seen the closing act of the YEP MED project, led by the Escola Europa and the Port of Barcelona, and with the support of the BCN Vocational and Education Training Foundation . One of the final results of the project has been the preparation of the report Update of the the professional profiles of the Barcelona port community.
The project, promoted by several Mediterranean cities and VET centers, has generated new training itineraries, in collaboration with Barcelona Activa, and has had a high level of success in participation and insertion.
Today, the “Entrepreneurship Night” 2023 took place, celebrating the 14th edition of the FPempren Awards and the 5th edition of the FPconsolida. It has been a night full of recognition and inspiration for young entrepreneurs in vocational training. The event, organised by the BCN FP Foundation with the support of the Barcelona City Council and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area, has featured prominent representatives of the field and personalities of the education and entrepreneurship world.
The inauguration ceremony started with Sara Berbel, president of the BCN Vocational and Education Training Foundation, Fabian Mohedano, executive president of the Professional Qualification and Training Agency of Catalonia, María Truñó, Education Commissioner of Barcelona City Council, and Montse Ballarín, vice president of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
During the event, two witnesses of entrepreneurship success have been presented: the experience of Marc Almeda, founder and CEO of WePrefereat, and the experience of the Provençana Institute of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, by Paco Sánchez, who has presented the nursery of companies that they developed on the centre itself. For this initiative, Marta Carrió, president of Netmentora Catalunya, and Anna Simó, Minister of Education of the Government of Catalonia, have presented the fifth FPConsolida Award to the Institut Provençana.
The awards were presented with 10 awards categories, according to the best-targeted project in terms of its coherence, feasibility, consistency and the added value that it brings to the sector in particular. The award centers of this 14th edition have been:
