SEPIE invites the Annual Erasmus+ Dissemination Day at the Teatro Real in Madrid

The Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE), an organization that acts as a National Agency of the Erasmus+ program, has announced the celebration of its Annual Erasmus+ Information Day. Call launch 2025 – Vocational Training”, to be held on 18 December 2024.

In this day, the main novelties of the Erasmus+ call for 2025 will be presented. In this edition, representatives of the Bcn FP Foundation and the FP Network will participate.

The conference will feature the participation of relevant speakers and successful experiences of institutions that have implemented Erasmus+ in their educational programs will be shared, with the aim of promoting common European values through education and training.

Visit to EcoHub Barcelona

On Tuesday, December 10, 2024 we visited Ecohub a center for technological innovation in bioconstruction and landscaping in Cabrera de Mar. Created by professionals and companies that advise for the development of projects related to solar energy, home automation, modular construction, biopiscines, gardens, etc.

Its mission as a center of innovation is to provide solutions in technology and constructive ecology to improve the quality of life of people and coexistence with nature.

This hub participates this year in the Metropolis FP Lab formulating a challenge for the students and in this meeting we were able to establish synergies and future lines of collaboration, within the framework of the FP & Constucció 4.0 Sectoral Table, and other projects that we promote from the Foundation to connect companies with the professional training centers of Bcn and AMB.

Presentation of the International projects at the Mobility coordinators meeting

On November 6th, the annual meeting of mobility coordinators took place to share the evaluation of international projects carried out during 2024 and explain the novelties of 2025.

This meeting kicks off the new Erasmus calls that will allow students, recent graduates, teachers and management teams from Barcelona, Àrea Metropolitana and Mataró to carry out training stays in different cities around the world.

Rubí joins the Metropolis FPLab project

Rubí has taken a step forward in the promotion of Vocational Training with its incorporation into our metropolitan innovation project in Vocational Training MetropolisFPLab, an initiative that seeks to promote educational continuity and the approach of young talent to the needs of the labour market.

The arrival of Rubí to the MetropolisFPLab has been possible thanks to the support of the Barcelona Provincial Council, thus expanding the network of municipalities participating in the Social and Economic Development Area of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB).

The BCN FP Foundation in the Saló de l’Ocupació and BizBarcelona

During the Saló de l’Ocupació and BizBarcelona, the BCN FP Foundation has highlighted with the presentation of the study “Sustainable Construction in a key of VET”. This study highlights how digitalization and sustainability are transforming the construction sector, requiring new professional profiles. 

In the round table moderated by Ángel Tarrino, with the participation of Laura Borroso (Barcelona School of Labour), Edu (Bioconstruction Guild) and Carol Beuter (Provensan Institute), bioconstruction, recycling and new trades were discussed.  

The study “Young population aged 16 to 24 unemployed without post-compulsory studies” was also analyzed and how Vocational Training can offer solutions for this group. 

At BizBarcelona, a session was held on Entrepreneurial Talent in VET with the presentation of the project table for Ester Pujol. Next, Jèssica Canalda, from the innovation and business area of the Foundation, framed the projects that would be presented from VET centers. The experience table was attended by I. Romero and P. S’nchez, from Institut Provensana with Blue Containers Project, and Figueredo, M.A. López and L. del Castillo, from Institut Esteve Terradas with the VR Museum of Tintin in Catalan.

Presentation of the Socioeconomic Memory of Barcelona 2020-2022 and Farewell of the President of the CESB in the Saló de Cent

On October 5, in the Saló de Cent of the Barcelona City Council, the CESB-Consell Econòmic i Social plenary session took place in Barcelona. On behalf of the mayor of Barcelona, Raquel Gil, Councilor for Economic Promotion and Employment, welcomed the event. During the event, the socio-economic memory of Barcelona 2020-2022 of the Economic and Social Council of Barcelona was presented, by Mr. Carles Puig de Travy, Dean of the College of Economists of Catalonia and Mrs. Aurora Huerga, on behalf of the CESB executive commission.

Mrs. Maria Nogué, Secretary of the Council, summarised the work carried out and the work in progress in 2023. And the President, Mr Francesc Castellana spoke about the current socio-economic context and set out the lines of work of the Economic and Social Council of Barcelona in 2024. He also dismissed the presidency of the CESB.

From the Foundation we would like to thank Mr Castellana for all the collaboration during his term of office; and wish him every luck in this new stage.

Then there was the evaluations of the social agents and an open turn of words.

New Mobility Opportunity in Germany for Graduates in VET

The information sessions of the mobility project for 2025 have already begun! Professional Training graduates, or who will graduate in May/June 2025, have a new opportunity to go to Germany and obtain a scholarship that will allow them to live a unique experience of training and work. These information sessions are held both in person at VET centers and online. A unique experience for FP graduates!

This project offers language training in German, starting from level 0 until reaching the official B1 qualification. 

In addition, the project includes individual monthly tutorials and an international professional mobility program, where they will reach a training and learning employment contract of about 12 months with a German company. At the end of this contract, they will obtain the homologation of the Catalan VET degree in Germany, opening new doors to the European labour market.

Training stay in the Swedish city of Skellefteå

We have organized a training stay in Skellefte a, Sweden, for teachers from professional families related to the sustainable construction sector of centers in Barcelona and Metropolitan Area.

The aim of the visit was to deepen Sweden’s education and VET system and to get to know schools and companies dedicated to sustainable timber construction, a growing sector and key to a more environmentally friendly future.

During the stay, the participants had the opportunity to visit cutting-edge educational facilities in the sustainable construction sector such as the Anderstorp school, the Balder school, T2 College, the Artic Center of Energy research center and the Swedish company Martinsons, specialized in working with wood in construction, material recognized for its sustainability and low environmental impact. In addition, the delegation has been able to exchange experiences with local professionals, thus enriching their knowledge and exploring possible future collaborations.

We participate in the “Erasmus days Granollers”

We have participated in the Erasmus Days, held in Granollers and promoted by the Institut Carles Vallbona and the Granollers City Council and the Diputació de Barcelona.  The conference was held at the Carles Vallbona Institute with the aim of promoting international mobility in Vocational Training through the Erasmus program.

This conference was held in collaboration with the EMT Granollers Institute, Carles Vallbona Institute, Educem and the Parc Estudi. The event promoted exchange and training opportunities for young people at European level.
