MetròpolisFPLab is an innovation project promoted by the Metropolitan Agency for Economic Development of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, Barcelona City Council, Barcelona Provincial Council, and the BCN Vocational Training Foundation with the aim of evaluating the talent of vocational training students, bringing them closer to the labour market, promoting the acquisition of key skills and their job placement.

It is an open innovation project, challenge-based learning where participating companies and institutions formulate real challenges to those who respond, in a fully accompanied way, to vocational training students. The winning team has a grant to start developing its project within the corresponding organization. The objectives of this project are:

Enhance students, improving their employability and skills.

The open innovation methodology allows to promote entrepreneurship, teamwork, the promotion of cross-cutting skills; factors that will be key both for job placement and for employability throughout life. And it is a meeting point between VET centers and the business fabric, in order to generate economic, social and cultural value in the territory. Students will have to generate innovative projects through their ideas, bringing the demands of the business world and the territory itself closer to the proposed capacities for improvement. All this will allow the potential of the students to emerge contributing to the improvement of their labor insertion and employability.
